Can't equip spells to quick spell slot

The tutorial wasn't very clear (or I might just be stupid). It says to equip spells to a quick spell slot, I have to memorize the spells, rest, right click the quick spell slot, and then click on the spell I want to put in the slot. However, when I do this, the option to put a spell there doesn't pop up when I right click. Could it be because I use a trackpad?

quick spell slot? don't think this game has one of those.

Theres one in NWN2...Don't think the earlier games had one.

best route is to press the F# key to bring up the spells (varies by class because apparently it assigns them from left to right then the right F# key for the spell, which changes because as you use up spells it disappears from the list.

most people just pause alot.

OK apparently you have 2 quick spell slots as a full mage. left click on them to load a memorized spell for quick casting.

This is super old... but I was having the same problem.

If you are just starting the game, you need to memorize the spell you want, then rest at the Inn in candlekeep before you can put it into the quick spell slot.

I played this game when it was first released... but just picked it up again after finishing BG3... 6 times. Lol.

I'm using a trackpad on mac and had this problem... finally figured out that BGEE doesn't recognize the two-finger right-click, you have to use option-click.

just add a specific hot-key for the spells you want. Every spell in the game can have a hot-key assigned.

you generally only get 0-3 quick-slots, class depending, and that's hardly a useful amount (right-click on the quick-slot to select the spell for it, once you've rested). Once i found how to set up the spell hot-keys, I never bothered with trying to set any again.
