Even Harder To Roll A 90+
If ever it's harder to roll a 90+ than ever. For those of us who believe the game deserves a much more than normal peasant wandering in out of the fields, the game continues to make it harder. I have lately been able to roll an entire hour without getting a SINGLE 90. As for numbers in the mid 90's, they just don't roll anymore. So lately I've had to cheat to get the roll.

I start a character out with two abilities pretty low, usually wisdom and charisma. Then, before making 2nd level, I run to the charisma tome and the wisdom tome in Durlag's tower. Get my score up twice, then start the game over, and do it over again until I have the score I'm aiming for.

I believe it is now quicker to get my score up this way than by simply sitting there and rolling. I can now have a score of 95 or better in just a few hours by finding tomes over and over again than by wearing my wrists out (carpal tunnel syndrome). So be it.

Strength can be more easily buffed by chemicals. In fact it happens in real life, and, in the sports industry, is often against the law.

The mage spell "DESIRE" has more options when your charcter has wisdom 18.

Wouldn't it just be quicker to get the tome to increase the stat, export the character, create a multiplayer game with a password (so no one can join) import the character with the tome into all of the slots, start the game, put them all on one character, export that character, roll the character you want to play for another password locked multiplayer game, import the characters with the inventory of tomes and use them on the character, export that one and then import him into the game you want to play through with him in. Initially it will take time but later you will already have the character with the tomes for future use.
Like someone said earlier: If you are cheating anyways, then just use the EEKeper, saves a lot of time. Spending more time doen't make cheating less cheating. I mean it's a single player game, no one cares if you cheat or not. And if you feel your son of Bhaal should have all 18 stats then go for it and be done with it.

How do you use the EEKeeper to cheat on your character roll? It's got to be easier than Mr. Tongue Twisters method.

Or you could just use the console to give yourself the tomes and go play canasta with all that saved time.

Create a new char. Save the game. Edit the savegame file it in EEKeper and change the attributes to what you want them to be. Save the savegame file. Reload game. Done.

You might just be unlucky, I've never had much trouble rolling a 90 in less than 10 minutes. Actually saving it before clicking the reroll button, on the other hand...

Maybe I do enjoy rolling new characters....I thought I might enjoy a multi class cleric/mage, but no, it was awful. I decided to do a dual class cleric/mage. I will need to do a level 13 cleric/mage. The level 13 will be to get a level 7 cleric spell, although I might just settle for a level 6 cleric spell heal, and be content with the raise dead spell. One of each equals a resurrection.

Came here to post this. Why can't I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ roll anything over an 89? 90 is the max roll i've gotten on a new character in 2 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hours of rolling. 93 or bust for most builds.

What the ♥♥♥♥ happened? Did they patch in some sort of ♥♥♥♥ to make it harder to roll 90+?

normaly a character stat roll is about 4d6 top 3 or 3,3,4,4 aka 11 x6 = 66 Adverage. But I can see your complain as there are rules to basicly reroll if your to low, I once rolled in a game 5 18's and a 16 in a D&D Adventure I hate the rolling methood to a HUGE degree as it can create huge unbalance and rather use a point buy system of some type (Tho a decent/modest one over-all)

this being said I do find cheating to be pretty lame and at times useless. Among a few other options ill explain due to matters on hand I cant use certain mods and such even trusted ones like say ... Nexus Mods for example as such the whole 'Use X Mod' Dosnt tend to apply to me For reasons i rather not go into detail explaining.

However I Do find the arguement of having to have 90+ Or Bust on most character builds to be Laughible Now I Get in terms of roleplaying or other such things Why you would want good stats I agree in terms of roleplaying you pretty much want decent/good stats.
a Mage who romance Vic for example needs a high STR score to get her interested at all meaning you have to waste some major points into STR

Con is one of thouse stats that past 14 or such on alot of classes it dosnt do anything honestly But if you wanted to roleplay it dos hurt

So im kinda in the middle ground hear as someone who perfers the normal Baldurs gate vs this EE game, and still has the CDS (Rather not use em there old no longer got the box or such after all that they came in) I Gotta argue that
frankly I Lol @ Anyone / eveyone who thinks you have to have 90+ For most builds or bust, But I do find it annoying in terms of roleplay
I Dont want to roleplay a Dumb ass barbian with good stats for example. Or something along thouse lines but still.

I can generally hope to get a decent roll of a 93 in an hour or two, BUT NO HIGHER. The days when I could get a fighter roll of a 96 are gone forever I believe. But I can now go into the game and get two tomes several times before I reach level 1 pretty easy. The easiest to get is the tome of wisdom in Durlag's tower. All you need is one potion of invisibility, and about half an hour.

I feel like they patched it to be harder to roll anything over 90 now. I used to be able to roll a 95 or better in 45 minutes, now it's 2 + hours of rolling for 90 or less.
