Entire party dies by quick death.
I am currently at chapter 7 and at various points my complete party instantly dies for no apparent reason. My only thought is I have supposedly been poisoned and have only obtained half of the antidote. Could this be why my entire party seems to instantaneously die at times for no apparent reason?

There are two halves to the antidote. If you don't get both halves the entire party Will eventually die. When you get the first cure to the Iron Throne's Gaes Insist on getting it from the Priest of Umberlee before you give her the Tome of Wisdom, then don't give it to her, but use it yourself. Kill her instead. Think of it as payment for the quest.

I was supposed to get the second half of the antidote at the blushing Mermaid Inn. However the character Marek who has it could not be found there. Is there any other way around this situation?

Reload from before you got poisoned is the safest way, although I suppose you could use Keeper to spawn in the second part of the antidote and see if that allows you to continue.

If that doesn't work you'd have to go through your gamestates and edit them to the completed version of the quest, but make a backup of your save because it's easy to completely break your save doing that.

I killed the priest of Umberlee prir to this quest.

Reloading is unfortunately not an option. I'll have to check to be sure. Thanks for the info guys.

It's always a good idea to keep backup saves at the beginning of each chapter.

Appreciate the help guys. I found a chapter 7 start save file and will reattempt from there.

Did you look on the second floor of the Blushing Mermaid for the assassin with the second half of the cure. He IS on the second floor. The stairs were very difficult to find the first time I played the game. The guy has a +2 short bow, a good weapon for Imoen if you have her. If you got the first half of the treatment for the poison you don't need the Priestess anymore. You already got the first half of the remedy, and that;s all you need her for.

Thanks Dan Connors, I just so happened to be at the blushing mermaid inn now. I did not know there was a second floor, will look for the stairs. Thanks for your help!

You have to be given the location by the first assassin first. Otherwise he won't be there. Get the first half of the antidote, and the location, before you go. Then look on the second floor. The stairs are on the north east wall.

I have the first antidote, I'm trying to battle Marek.

Congratulations.

I'm cured!! Thanks for the hint of the stairs. I don't think I would have found them without you letting me know that they were there.

Nice you solved it. Btw I once killed the Diviner prior this quest (paid that scum 50 gold for info about richest person in city... wanted that money back:p

Solution in such case is to enable cheats and summon npc by console.

only half of the antidote works.

the first half does nothing. and yeah ignoring it would lead to instantaneous party death yes.

I recall searching the brothel somewhat extensively before noticing there was an upstairs.

I actually give her the tome. then kill her for a second unrelated quest you get on your way to the tome. To save a small boy.

thats ...more honorable in my opinion.
