Aec'letec Loot ??
After a couple attempts, I finally killed the demon and there is no loot. There were items from the cult members but nothing from him... seriously? Is this a bug or should I just be glad to be done with Durlag's Tower and get XP? I have more gold than I can spend and nice items but this seems odd

No, it doesn't drop anything. I'm not big on D&D lore, but I think you are more or less "banishing" it back to the Abyss, rather than actually killing it.

It seems like you might be versed enough to nitpick "kill" and "banish" when the game won't continue long enough to see its return to the material plane anyways

Hardly a "nitpick", but yeah, you are banishing the fiend, not killing it so why do you think you should be able to loot it?
Common game design typically dictates that you get loot for fighting off a Big Bad, so I can see why he might be irritated. Didn't the guy at the bottom of Watcher's Keep in 2 drop a truckload of stuff, by the by?

Nope. Killing Watcher's Keep final boss rewards a ton of xp but no items at all. Unfortunately the point about the demons being banished and not killed was spot on. I think that to loot a demon's remains in D&D it would be necessary to kill it in its own plane of existance.
Though that doesn't really explain why the cult couldn't have something of interest as a reward for this fight which otherwise is mostly pointless.

If killed in the encounter where he murderes Gorion he drops Full Plate +1. Not all that great since Tamoko who can be killed alongside him will drop the exact same thing but at least you can loot him ans say he didn't manage to cheat you out of your reward ;)

Lmao, what an awfully short game that'd make.

He doesn't drop anything, but the Sword of Chaos you get from the genie in Irenicus' dungeon at the start of BG2 is Sarevok's sword.

anyways you get a reward for turning in the quest. I can't really remember what it was. the fight itself was its own reward, was sort of a post game fight before exporting to BG2 and all items were going to be lost anyways.

but since we are going to siege, take all the loot, sell it and buy wands of fireball and explosive arrows.

I took the 60 explosive arrows in Baldurs gate to siege, and corwin...did alot of friendly fire in the siege of dragonspear. like I saved them for the seige map and just...blew everything up.

Not really, when turning in the quest the only dialogue option to choose from is claiming that no reward is needed and the dwarf just walks away. Maybe a team with evil alignment or low reputation gets some alternative option but I doubt it since BG is very unfriendly towards that kind of gameplay.

I would have paid real money to not have any "allies" at that point in the game...
