Yeah I know about that spell. I just find it odd that there is a protection from fire and a protection from lightning, but no protection from cold?
Not Cleric spells, but there are options:
The mage has a protect vs. cold.
There are those readable protect vs. cold scrolls; anyone with 9+ IQ can use them.
Some items are helpful, like the Belt of Antipode and The Frost's Embrace.
Potions:
Cold Resistance - 50% cold resistance.
Magic Shielding - 50% magic *damage* & elemental, auto-saves
Magic Protection (different from shielding, raises magic resist vs. effects such as blind, etc.)
Note on potions: Wikia incorrectly states Magic Shielding does not stack, but effects are actually cumulative. I've stacked the so called "auto-saves" to -20; the resists stacked to the cap of 127. I've seen up to -34 within parentheses for saves (which is what stacked), but I don't know what this is about, seems to be varied modifiers per character. Maybe the discrepancy about not stacking is due to version issues?
I forgot references, pending:

http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Protection_from_energy
But bg uses some older rules so there is not these spells afaik.

Note: Incorrect at this time, but I don't know what BG version the author tested.

Note: I think this is 1st edition AD&D; see link in page for 11th Cleric spell.
