Topic is solved, and i will RP the game to my personal preference.
If you want more fun, kill some guards too.
I usually kill those who have unique items, ie Algernon or Jared
you murder one civie, there is a hit for assault, and a hit for murder. if its too much of a hit you can just donate to a temple to bring it back up to an appropriate level.
In BG2 you can pay 2 REP at any time as one of your character abilities after a point in the main story. but BG1 I would simply murder some civlian if I wanted to manage my rep.
frankly though I prefer the better vendor prices to the various evil NPC. they aren't that much better than the good ones.
there is no better wizard in BG2 than Edwin (especially for ToB), and Viconia was boosted with her WIS compared to BG1
Murder is an obvious evil act. However, there's stealing, and pickpocketing. Both of those tend away from the Lawful end of the law/chaos scale (unless you're stealing for the benefit of something other than yourself or party). So, Montaron is a Neutral Evil Fighter/Thief. He's a perfect candidate for blatant stealing or pickpocketing. Imoen, on the other hand, being Neutral Good, would not hold back on stealing IF, and only if, it benefit the group or their goals in some manner. If she were caught, she would not fight back and would most likely run.
So, play accordingly. There's 3 shades of evil in AD&D. And remember, evil characters are selfish beings. Whatever they do, it's for their gain or benefit only. It's HOW and/or WHY they obtain it that determines their position on the law/chaos scale. Of course, this is purely from an RP perspective. Feel free to murder and plunder until your Reputation is as low as desired, LOL.

Wow BG lets you kill children? Lot of games released lately would never let you... a lot of them either make children invincible or not present in the game world so attacking them isn't an option. Even games like GTA would never let you do stuff like that... I mean notice there's no schools in GTA games
Send your thief, alone, into an occupied home. Steal something, or at least open a locked container, with people around. Then escape before the guards can get it together (boots of speed help here, a lot!) Make sure the AI is off so you don't kill any. When the guards start talking, tell them off. You get the REP loss, and no one is harmed. And, if you are lucky, you may have stolen something of value as a bonus!
Note: There is a cache limit in the game. Go back right away, and the guards will be there and hostile. Wait a while, visit lots of other areas, and eventually they go away.
Step 1 - kill a watcher in Candlekeep for their plate armor. I think it's-4 rep but the armor keeps you alive and is expensive.
Step 2 - consider killing the bounty guy man in Naskel - oublek he drops 3000 gold (after prism and braige so no quest problems)
Step 3 - if ya didn't kill him, ya gotta kill before walking in Baldurs Gate. Algernoon in Beregost, he's up the main stairs, northern room. +2 CHA bonus, charm person. Great cloak, helps in dialogue, getting better prices. Some quests even require that you force combat to stop and charm and restart dialog. Algernoon is -9 rep so you don't really run into reputation problems after this one.
I couldn't find a fourth worth mentioning. Figured those three would cover it.
It's a problem because Dorn has carry weight for ankegs and wyvern, Baeloth has the most spells, Kagain can regenerate, and... Idk Viconia is cool, necromancy sounds like the best summon monster caster... oh and if you put up with Edwin being annoying, he's a great mage too.
