As far as weapon....he comes with a great one...did you even look at the character before coming here to ask?
Ok I will ignore him then and most likely sell his dagger. And is it worth keeping Minsc and Dyaneir? Becuase Neera can do everything? Or should I dual class Imoen as a mage later on?
And yes I looked at his charcter and then relaoded and told him I did not want him to join. His weapon was in a chest after you kill the boss in the room below his.
However, you keep referring to "Me" instead of telling what class your main character is. Depending on the role of your main character, you can change the role of Imoen AND exchange companions.
You're asking way too many basic questions which destroy the overall experience when playing this game and discovering things yourself. There are tons of old and new guides and walkthroughs on the Internet - it is extremely boring to follow them instead of simply playing the game and spending a bit of time reading the PDF manual.
It would be an unusual replacement. Khalid is a Fighter, and a capable frontliner and weapon-and-shield warrior if given a few items and a bit of support. Minsc is a Ranger but with a special berserker rage ability, which makes him unique. As much as I like Branwen in my parties, Branwen cannot really replace either one. She can become a heavy armored shield frontliner, too, just like Viconia, but she remains a pure cleric. If you had named Ajantis, the Paladin, as a replacement for a warrior, well, you could fetch him as the first companion after Imoen, in the area directly north of the Friendly Arm Inn. And Neera, uhm, do you really want wild magic? She's more something for a second playthrough for a little bit experienced players, who want to look into her personal quest and the added voice-acting.
I just came here to Necro this thread to tell you you're an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. People like you shouldn't be on these forums.
Thopugh yeah...if any one reads this Xan is really powerful. He would have not been so great if they had him in BG2 or if you tried to solo a character like him through BG1, but with a party to do the killing...enchantment magic is king in BG1. Not so much against undead, but there are not any undead that a couple fighters can't handle, but plenty of tougher fights that are made easy with an enchantment spell or two. Xan's enchantment spells are harder to save against so that makes him pretty valuable.
Just toss that moonblade of his and put some throwing daggers or darts on him. If you really want to have some fun, use EEKeeper to turn him into a Berzerker and dump points into daggers and dual wielding. With his moonblade in one hand and the dagger of venom in the other...it gets rather nuts. However as a mage, that moonblade will not come in handy very often and if it is...you are doing something wrong.
Wow. What a sad and lonely life you must lead.
Like said before though, stay with the group you have, it is a very nice party for your first game.
Every character can work out decently if you want. Some are easier of course.
Considering this question was asked almost 3 years ago, I'm pretty sure the OP has moved on from Chaper two.
