Unlock Steam achievements from Gog version

Hi! I have BGEE purchased on Steam and BGEE & SoD on GOG, I'd like to know if I can unlock the SoD achievements on Steam moving my files!

There's no guarantee any achievement may be unlocked when you load a save from your non-Steam game in Steam. Certain achievements may unlock, it's hard to predict how it will behave.

I’m pretty sure that the way steam achievements work is that they unlock only at the time they are completed and not retroactively in any game.

Maybe if, say, you load a game that has a hero with 25 in strength as you open it, then you will get that achievement but you won’t get quest related achievements that have already been completed on that file.

I would love to know if it does work though.

That theory is faulty - at least with regard to the Baldur's Gate series. When you load a savegame, the game engine checks various state variables and unlocks some Steam achievements. That doesn't work for all achievements, however, since some states can only be reached and checked at playtime and are not stored within the savegame files.
