Half-orc clerics rock!
just keep rolling to get high 80s or even 90s (I got 93 once)

your humble cleric can start with *19* strength and Constitution, which gives huge combat boosts and regeneration
take war hammer as 1st proficiency or club (since clubs won't break with the itron problem, but best weapon in BG1 for cleric is warhammer and of course in BG2 you get..CROM FAEYR!)

never EVER give your character negative charisma, has bad effect on rest of party, try to keep it positive

remember in BG1 there are TWO +Wisdom tomes in the game (and another if want to do ulgoth's beard/sword coast)
and one for strength dex, con, int and Charisma
so you can boost your halforc very decently.

make him a cleric of lathander and it gets even better , 1/4 levels, lathanders boon gives and extra attack +1 hit damage and immune ot level drain, so you can kick BUTT!
;)

What are we going to do tonight, Pinky?
TAKE OVER THE WORLD!! :p

Thanks for this. Do you advice it for a solo game? :)

Animate Undead is your friend.

Send in the skellys to soak up all the traps and spells and take a beating.

Eh, I still prefer Dwarven F/C over Half-Orc.

Starting out with 19 STR is fun and all, but in a long run those bonus Saving Throws heavily outweights any damage bonuses you'd get from 19 STR.
