Steam Cloud Save
I heard this game supported cloud saves. So i turned it on in Options. But how can i be certain it has saved to steam cloud? I am getting a new computer soon so i want to continue playing on my save. Is there a way to confirm that your save is on the cloud?

It can create new saves in the cloud, but it doesn't sync old local saves to the cloud.

Not sure i understand, I have activated Steam Cloud in game options, So when i save there should be a new save created in cloud yes? How do i make sure that stays around on steam even if i delete the local files?
"It doesn't sync" means that your local files are completely separate from files in Steam Cloud.

if you do not trust the cloud save option.

Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\save

slap the last save-file on a USB stick , or send it yourself as e-mail attachment , they are small enough.

I recommend GameSaveManager 3 in combination with an Dropbox account.
1) Download the program (zipfile) from http://www.gamesave-manager.com/
2) Extract the zipfile to your Dropbox folder.
3) Run the program and let the program scan for games, backup the savegames to your Dropbox folder. Make sure the files are synced to Dropbox.
4) On the new computer install Dropbox and restore the backup with the program in your Dropbox folder.

I use this method for all my games who don't support Steam Cloud saves.

Good luck :)

For people trying to figure this out the detail that was missing for me is that the cloud save option is in the options of the BG game. NOT the steam options. When in game go to options > gameplay > enable cloud saves. Then load a game, save it again. Repeat for any saves that you'd like to move to the cloud if you switch from different computers to play.

Thank you gonz037! You just gave me the solution to why my synced games weren't showing up.
