"The Ossifier" staff
Is there a use for this cursed staff? I tried finding some information online, but the only thing i found was a theoretical speeck about using it to lower the armor class of enemies. Do you know something about it?

No, its just a cursed item. A bit of (not very funny) humor.

Most of the cursed items are pretty useless ;)
There are some that have limited value - the berserker sword for example -, but it'll take quite a bit of micromanagement to actual use them.

What about "the vampire's revenge"?

Same situation, its purely bad. Cursed items in BG are mostly to punish you for not identifying things before equipping them.

I see... it's sad though.

The most useful of the lot is probably the beserking sword as it provides a hard counter to charm-heavy encounters (like sirines) but at the cost of a Remove Curse spell, you might as well pop a helmet of charm resistance on.

true...

There is also the cursed Belt of Hill Giant Strength in Rasaad's quest. It gives you a 19 Strength but drops your Intelligence to 6. Unless you're playing a Fighter/Mage, there's no reason not to equip it on a melee character.

I've never used it, but apparently the Helm of Alignment Change (Durlag's Tower) can be used to keep an evil character in a good party or vice versa.

I never thought of that helm... Kagain would be a nice addition...

+1

Or if identifying them, misreading the description or forgetting about the curse and equipping the item later by mistake.

The Discipliner is made for this.
