Elemental: War of Magic -->Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes

Okay, so here's my story. I bought the original elemental way way back when it first came out. I liked it reasonably well, it had it's problems which would make me set it aside or have to restart. So I'd pretty much forgotten about it, have bought a new pc last year and just now had been recalling old games I hadn't tried on the new(ish) system and rememberd, 'Hey, that elemental game, i haven't played that in a while'. So I go to stardock, can't find it but see that apparently I have this game I never heard of, Fallen Enchantress: LH for free. Little bit of research tells me it's Elemental redone and given to free to the early buyers of Elemental. So my question is, is it pretty much the same game improved? Should I load the old elemental game? It seems to me that it's just Elemental as the designers invensioned it should of been but the name change is making me think I'm playing a different game.

War of Magic-> Fallen Enchantress-> Legendary Heroes. It's all the same game as they tinker with it and try to get it right. Unless you bought Elemental to start with you have to pay each time they update it.

FE;LH is not the same game at all as WoM; WoM sucked, LH is a great, and very different game.

Yah.. it's the same game like Civ4 is the same as game as Civ2... but not really >.<

Civ IV and Civ II have totally different graphics for a start though. Civ II has small 2d sprites and Civ IV has 3D models and textures. World of magic, FE and LH all use the same graphics.

Elemental and Fallen Enchantress are NOT the same game. Similar in a few ways, maybe, but generally, Elemental was not good, and FE is quite good.

Fallen Enchantress and FE: Legendary Heroes are basically the same game. Legendary Heroes is basically a cross between an expansion pack and a sequel.

I would say it falls more between a patch and a minor DLC.

In the op he says that he bought elemental and he went to stardock's website and he had FE:LH for free...

Fallen Enchantress Legendary Heroes is fantastic and MILES better than Elemental.

If not, check to see if you get a discount. Overall they improved the game as the other games developed (engine improvments) and discarded a few things from the game.

Why are you saying this? In the OP he says he got a FE:LH key for free. 2 posts above yours I pointed this out again because somone else made the same mistake you did. Has it got so bad that not only do people not read the other posts in a thread, they don't read the OP either?

Call me crazy but I like Elemental WoM, I go back and forth between FE;LH and E;WoM... its mostly because of the marriage and children system, i think they call it the legacy system? but I love it a lot and I like the traits for the different champions too... I have to confess though that if they put that in FE;LH id probably never go back to E;WoM as thats the main reason I like it.

I wish I could get more heroes in LH, the fame milestones kinda make sense and I get enough armies anyways... and having to rely on luck to hunt down that one champion on a board of randomly dropped champions is really frustrating. but getting two random choices per fame milestone, and sometimes having it glitch on me and just not getting an option period (thus causing me to reset at 50 or 100 fame)... really isnt ideal either....

XD they all kind of have a little bit of there own spice as it stands, now if the makers could just get there ♥♥♥♥ together and put it all into one game proper like... this would be a game of epic proportions that surpasses even Romance of the Three kingdoms!

you can get more heroes, just put altarian blood into a custom race, and you can get henchmen with any trait setup (if you're doing this try the warriors trait. all units get a free level. then you add in veteran in unit design, build at your war college, and you can train lvl 6 heroes, great for governing or really any hero based need.)

also the champion bonanza mod on nexus mods adds a ton of random champions
