Does Fallen Enchantress: Ultimate Edition include the original Elemental: Fallen Enchantress scenario?
The Fallen Enchantress scenario in LH seems like a sequel to the original game. Does the Ultimate Edition include the original game with the first scenario? The Steam description just implies that it only comes with the DLCs. I can't seem to find the original Elemental: Fallen Enchantress for sale anywhere, even on Stardock's site.

The scenario comes with the base game, not a DLC, so you should be good with the ultimate pack which includes the base game as well as the DLC.

The original FE is no longer for sale. IIRC, they took it off market shortly after this game (FE:LH) was released as this was a replacement of sorts for that game. They just weren't super happy with the FE version. FE:LH is a very similar version of that game with some core mechanics changed fairly drastically.

As far as the scenario goes, it was never promised to be included in the FE:LH version, it was just kind of a bonus thing they included after pulling FE. So, if I am remembering that right, it was not in the game at launch but was included in an update at some point after that. Without going back and looking at posts/news from that period I would not say I am 100% on that.

Thanks for the response! I bought the Ultimate Edition.
For anyone who had a similar question, it turns out that there is no extra scenario.

Apparently I had the mistaken impression that the Fallen Enchantress scenario was a sequel, because the opening text mentioned a character Shirayn, with no indication about who this person was. It seemed like the writer expected us to be familiar with the characters and setting.
So I thought that the original Fallen Enchantress had different scenario that would be included in this.

I think I'll keep it though, because the DLC looks to be worth it.

We were talking about the DLC on another post in the last few days but the general consensus here is that it's mostly great, with the exception that the AI seems to struggle playing the Dead factions. A current solution to that, if it's a problem for you, is to just ensure you re-select any AI Dead factions that crop up in a custom game.

Other than that, I think the DLC is well worth it as it adds more quests, items, characters and all the good stuff, which will prolong the life of the game significantly.

The original game was Elemental: War of Magic and I don't think it's officially available to buy anywhere, and for good reason as it contained serious bugs. Some people here and on reddit claim it's a good game with some interesting mechanics: I never tried it though so can't comment on it's quality.

Wikipedia has some info on the game. Actually, I had no idea Jon Shafer was a designer on this game, that is interesting.

He wasn't a designer on this game. He worked for stardock for a little bit, but that was after this game was already released.

The main designer on this was Derek Paxton (Kael of the Civ IV mod Fall From Heaven 2 ) Believe he is still the VP of games at Stardock.

So, you aren't seeing two scenarios?

I do see two scenarios: The War for Anthys and The Fallen Enchantress. I figured that the War for Anthys was a completely different story.
So is War for Anthys actually the first scenario from the first Fallen Enchantress all along, and I just didn't recognize it as such?

The opposite.

The scenario "The Fallen Enchantress" is from the original FE game. The scenario "The War for Anthys" is from this game, FE:LH.

Btw, I just downloaded the original FE from Stardock and installed it to check before posting this. Didn't want to guess at this, plus I figured I can take a little dip in the original FE with it's different rules. It's been a while!

So now I actually have all the elemental games on my gaming computer:
Elemental: War of Magic
Fallen Enchantress
Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes
Sorcerer King
Sorcerer King: Rivals

Think this is the first time I've had all 5 installed at once.
