Cheating AI
Is it just me or is the AI cheating like hell?
I remember beating the AI on Hard without problems in the old retail version, but in the new steam version it´s sometimes impossible to beat him on normal!!!! Always calling reinforcements from outside the map doubled (called 2 rangers or 2 churchills at the same time), even if doesn´t control anything on the map, he can build up huge armies! Not to mention his visibilty range, taking off tanks with his AT guns from nowhere, and there are no single enemies nearby (not even hidden snipers)
Especially the US Rangers, they were OP before, but controlled by the AI, say goodbye to your army. Dodging mortar shells and taking out the heaviest tank in no time.

Is there a community fix out there or something similar?

they fixed bugs in the game that now make the ai much better, was a relic fail before now they do what they are supposed to do.

The AI anti-tank weapons can see as far as they can shoot, your anti-tank weapons can shoot further than they can see which is why human players use jeep, snipers etc as spotters.

Sometimes the Ai plays the game in which they only bring in stuff from off-map, especially churchills, rangers, stugs, stormtroopers and hetzers. You can bring in 3 churchills at a time, standard churchill, avre, and crocodile.

The ai might just have no cooldown for reinforcment abilities.

I don't feel like there have been many significant changes in the AI since the older version.

i know that AT guns have a larger shooting than spotting range, if using observers. But the AI doesn´t need them.
And about the cooldown, that´s my thought now after the AI has dropped 3 airborne ranges at the same time.
BUT there have been signifcant chnges over time. The AI in the demo was just awesome, it used tactics! in the retail then it was kinda cowardly, after OF it started cheating, but it wasn´t that great. But the AI now, it´s just ridicolous.

Ai gets huge manpower bonus starting at normal

I used to beat expert rather easily on angoville, now wermacht spams stugs and pumas just when i build my supply yard. If I lock them down they just pump out enormous amounts of infantry that just mudbutt their way through MG's. Even without veterancy volks were trudging through. Ai sucks

The AI receieved 50% increased resources, from all income types, I discussed this before in another thread.

Edit:, forgot to mention, it gains 50% more in Normal difficulty, 100% in hard, and 150% is Expert.

really? I had problems with normal AI on retail and now it seems pretty easy. Pushing early and secure the front with some MGs is an auto win, they sent their units one by one to the fireline and dont have anything else build. pretty strange :S

No Haha, it quite the opposite for me and others now.
The AI in the old retail on normal was retarded, so olaying on Hard or Expert was kinda fine. NOW it can happen i´m getting overrun after a few minutes by an army of 3 players on 1v1.

Seems like it's pretty inconsistent. I remeber that one match in the retail version vs easy AI. He literally didnt build anything and after I killed the start pios it was just his HQ and bunkers waiting to be destroyed.
So, after a few matches with my bros we came to following conclusion:
-The AI has no fog of war
-the cooldown for reinforcments is almost zero
-on higher difficulties AI controlled Units seem to have higher defence and accuracy.
-And on Victory Point control game mode, the AI acts completely passive, not matter which difficult setting. (in old retail he went completely medieval on your ass)

At first i thought that the Eastern Front mod may change the AI in general (happened to me with an very old mod), did fresh installation without EF, same thing.
I have no clue about coding, and not really time to learn it the next months, but is there some sort of AI "fix" out there. The way the AI cheats NOW is just ridicolous

AI is still easy to beat so I don't see this as a real problem.

the problem is he needs to turn it to easy then he will be able to beat them but maybe he does not know how ?

Yes, it is beatable, but in 2 of 10 games we get overrun after a few minutes, no matter how fast we build an army or defence.

Why the hell doesn't the game come with cheats, good cheats not the ♥♥♥♥♥ ones?? Playing on expert and the AI just has unlimited man power, their damn AT guns do a hell of damage, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Panzer elite it's super weak, how the ♥♥♥♥ can you use PG when it takes forever and it takes forever to capture points while the AI does that super fast. Total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

The AI does appear to have no fog of war or an equivelant cheat. I was playing a map thats divided by a destroyed bridge and an artillery exchange went on back and forth.The AI drove the calliope up to the river edge and fired at my halftrack stuka rocket guys.. I would relocate them to the other corner of the map and the calliope targets them there again. I moved them around to different safe spots that no one could possibly see through fogs of war but the AI knew where to target each time.
