why do tank traps not work?
Keep putting up tank traps, axis tanks just drive straight over them, what is going on?

The heavy tanks(Panther, Tiger, King Tiger, Pershing, etc...) can go through the standard tank trap for both sides. The only ones that stop everything is the large traps the PE have in the Scorched earth doctrine. But you have to be careful in placing any of them to prevent small vehicles from sneaking around them.

Yes , any heavy tank for all 4 sides has the 'heavy crush' ability to simply drive over/flatten blocks, but while doing so , they receive a temporary movement reduced penalty, making them slightly more vulnerable to AT weapons for that time.

PE roadblocks also have a large build/deployment area , so you wont be able to place them in tight spots where you would ordinarily be able to squeeze in the smaller tank traps. They are also doctrine specific, and have to be unlocked in the PE Scorched Earth commander tree, you wont be able to build them straight away as you would with US/ Wehrmacht engineers at the start of a game.

Best suggestion if you're not playing PE, lay mines directly in front of tank traps (or behind) so the other player wastes their good tanks crushing tank traps that will make them blow up.

Also the Axis Bliztkrieg ability grants all the normal tanks the Heavy Crush trait.

With Panzer Elite's Scorched Earth doctrine you usually have to lay two rows of roadblocks to prevent movement of enemy vehicles completely and reliably (varies with surroundings.
put 5 rows down,,,,slows them downyour at guns will blow them up

Nah if its a tight squeeze have a WM ally place traps behind and place the roadblock at an angle so it will fit in the gap lol
