We both tried reinstalling the game and we get the same problem. We aren't using any mods at the moment.
So it seems to be a larger issue, eh? We thought maybe we had done something....
Do not say its not because it has to be something on your computer blocking the connection.
mayeb in your host list to a second party program that you do nto even know is blocking things to the net.
Put your routering to DMZ mode and then try.
uninstall steam and reinsatll it open the steam ports
Checking firewall settings is like the second thing to check after starting your computer/game.
Even leaving the full firewall settings off, (Which isnt a issue since my router has its own security.) It still keeps poping up every couple seconds that it cant connect.
The router i also checked, so unless CoH changed its connection ports the issue again isnt my connection.
But i will try again with the setting you suggested simply to eliminate all options.
I would guess it to either be with my computer or the game that i downloaded. Either need to revert to an older working verion, or download a quick fix, delete some settings(Already tried that).
I've already eliminated my own computers firewall and security.
I have threee other freinds with the game and they are reporting simular issues. Only they dont seem to have the error message continueously pop up every couple seconds.
Two are in my local area, and the thrid is 40 miles away. Not that i think any of that matters much.
But yes i do see a lot of other players with the same issue or at least a simular issue.
But mine is that i get consistantly disconnected every few seconds. Even though i can view and even join other matches online in the few seconds before being dissconnected.
Tried with the router in DMZ. And while the message now doesnt pop up every couple of seconds, i still cant join or host a game for more then a couple seconds.

I went through and did a quick test with my computers local IP, and made it open all ports.
So that worked...I just have to figure out how to open the CoH steam port on each router.
But it does ask for a Server IP address which im not sure which IP address its asking for exactly.
Either way i have made some progress and at least now i am a couple steps farther into it.
Thanks Tut Tut for your help, im trying to read through your walk through to try and open my routers ports.
Unforunately they want me to buy thier program before they will do it for me.
But i figure since i can already get into both rounters and the wi-fi range extender now, i SHOULD hopfully be able to work on it myself.
Right?....heheh or maybe not....
They get annoyed with me saying test your router / firewall because they wont help themselves by doing a few small steps to elimiate the basic things , i tend to get annoyed with them and not help at all because it is 99% of the time the router / firewall thats the problem and 1% steam server down or not workign right.
I am glad you have half got it working.
i do not understand why the port checker wants to be paid for as its free , well last tim ei checked it was free handy program not many do the udp checking.

Yeah the checker is free but if you want them to fix it for you through thier program, you have to pay for that.
i kinda figured it was something with my ports. Either my router firewall or my computer firewall blocking it.
Anyway i have it fixed now. And i dont have tp keep all the ports on my computer open.
It took a couple hours of just mucking about at the computer and trying different things, then starting the game up to see if it worked.
