Based on the SteamDB graph, it might go on sale during October and November. So guess I have to wait for another 2 months before i can buy it on sale.

They seemed to have become more stingy after COH 3 release, the last sale wasn't as low as the one before COH 3's release.

Best game ever! I'll say this, knowing Steam, it'll probably go on sale soon as part of a strategy-game promo or something. All that aside, I just copped it last week for the full price $19.99 and its worth every penny. Best infantry-based RTS I've played in YEARS, Hands Down! ! ! !!...

Gates of Hell: Ostfront is on sale right now in the steam strategy fest. It's a lot more complex and realistic than CoH. Its a great game, you can pick it up now pretty cheap.

Gates of Hell isn't bad but Men of War Assault Squad 2 with RobZ mod is better imo. Also you can't really compare it to COH, they're different types of games. COH is an RTS with base building, resource gathering (two of the distinctive things that make a RTS), and some very light tactics elements thrown in (I see COH as a midway between a traditional RTS like C&C or StarCraft and a tactics game). Men of War/Gates of Hell are full blown real-time tactics (RTT) games with no base building or traditional resource gathering. Very different types of games, the only thing they share is a WW2 setting and that they're real-time.

Yes I like playing Coh 1 and 2 sometimes for their own simpler style of gameplay too. Assault squad 2 with Robz is also excellent. Still there's a lot in Gates of Hell that Assault Squad 2 doesn't have, like the dynamic campaign where you can capture enemy equipment and use it in subsequent battles. The graphics and environments and animations are better and more advanced. Also Gates of Hell is on a newer engine and is still being developed but AS2 isn't going to get any serious improvements or new content any more. CTA Gates of Hell is definitely well worth picking up when it's on sale and the others aren't currently.

True... I do own Coh 2 btw, there aren't many interesting mods for Coh 2 compared to Coh 1.

And yes I've played the Coh 1's SIngleplayer demo through downloading on SteamDB, which is why I'm aiming for Coh 1. Men Of War & CTA on the other hand.. I'm not really in the mood for RTT games just yet. :)
