depending on oponent rush Supply yard. if Facing Wehr invest in WSC for counter sniping. If wehr player is playing defensive mortar team x demo charges form HQ can dislodge medic bunker defenses. Smoke the Bunker which will likely have an MG charge with all your infantry that way inside the smoke MG's cant supress and in that massed formation engineers cant be focused on so demo charge the medic bunker.( keep in mind all this will delay supply yard but you cant allow wehr to call upon zombie grens)
Mine the roads to make sure scwimwagens and motorcycles cant rush your sniper.
If facing PE ignore WSC and rush the supply yard ASAP. mine base entrances and roads to slow down the oncoming HT and 222 assaults. after bulidng the MP go for AT first to counter act the LAT HT research BAR's after your first armoured veichles start rolling out. In that time rely on green cover to prevent STG 44 pgrens from rushing you. It is possible to ignore the Motorpool and go straight for Tank Depot but Tanks from there is also valnurable to LAT HT tread breaker so 57mm AT is the best choice to dispatch them.
And Finally Choosing the right commander is the wax on the clean floor all 3 doctirnes offer good things Rangers while expensive to call in and upgrade can solo assault rifle squads artillery speaks for itself . Airborne offers good anti veichle and Strafing runs and weapon drops to break massed infatnry formaitons. and armor basically allow you to ignore SP traps and heavy armor to spear head pushes
Oh and one last thing unless you going to choose Armor company avoid 76MM sherman upgrade
Don't forget to get grenades as well. Sticky's can wait until mid game.
Engineer spam with US is good only if you want a quick rush for the resources and just spam decapping on enemy points. Flamethrowers on them and mine sweepers.
Don't build support center in 1v1 since it's not that great to back track. Useful in 2v2 tho or if the game is super stall / you desperately need snipers for the win.
Harass the enemy and that is the way to play USA. They are not good at defending but rather offense. Just harass, make good use of riflemen capping speed.
As for the tactics either go for airborne or infantry. Armor is fine but only good late game when you can get pershing.
If you don't allow wermacht to get enough fuel and you deny them long enough then you will most likely win.

you need to flank the wehr mgs and or nade them / flame engy them
Make another engie and build Barracks with first one.
4 Rifles (This is the very basic)
Safest option is to always go for M8. Bars and nades are super risky vs both axis armies.
Vs Wehr, unless you wipe an early mg, going nades will expose you to double Snipers. Most Wehr players always have at least 1 sniper in their build. If you go Bars or nades and don't time your push, they will just get another sniper and Manpower bleed you non stop.
Vs PE, since you are going up against Pg's and early vehicles, early nades won't work unless your opponent is bad. Going bars is risky since they get countered easily by fast AC's. If your opponent goes Infantry Halftrack's, Bars could work but its still not a solid counter.
A jeep as a first or second unit is really good vs PE since they don't have anything that can actually 1 shot it until the mid game. Jeep pushing (using the vehicle to push infantry out of cover) is extremely strong vs Pg's since they don't have Panzerfausts and no one ever goes AT nades first.
