personally prefer coh 1 the gameplay is more basic and simple, is more enjoyable.
i dont like the changes and balance they gave to to the second one, the factions feels kinda lackcluster at the end. also tanks are a factor early in game (sounds cool on paper) but is not.
I did buy COH2 during the steam sale for cheap but sadly it feels like a waste of money still... So I guess the first one is BETTER!
I guess to myself. COH2 seemed as mentioned over engineered to the point of being an ARCADE Game and felt like playing FROGGER. COH is the only game I even have installed as well as the Steam version. Great solo play and Multi Player games get intense in combat as one would expect from a great war game. What the Original COH lacks in its Graphics. Apparently is made up for with its ease of play, contol and fire fight intensity. COH1 is definately the winner between the two games. Its a no brainer.
And to the OP :
COH 1 is way better.
COH 2 is just.. idk weird.
both games are old now and what makes their force is their updates, mods, competitive plays nd community.
fun is subjective. alot of coh 1 players cried because of the dlc. if i have to compare coh 2 have more pros than coh 1.
while coh2 got:
true sight, better lobby, bigger community, better gameplay (infantry climbing fences.. because this is not the case in coh1, capture points system is better), better balance, better UI (easier to see and select your units on the screen) more content, more details, more custom content (custom maps and skin available easily), better combat interaction (no more terminator iron cross soldiers or invincible veterancy 3 panther like in coh1)...
coh1 got only:
a better atmosphere, better looking graphics (even with less details than coh2 it got better overall graphics), better animation (tanks feel heavy unlike the toyish coh2 tanks), better effect (explosions and weapon fire are more beautifull)...
the thing is when you play coh 1 you are more in the game than when you play coh2. you 'feel' more the war in coh 1 than in coh 2.
and of course the main reason coh 1 is loved by some are its mods. there is lots of awesome mods that really add custom content into the game, new faction and new gameplay.
if i have to make ranks i'd say: coh1<<coh2<<coh2mods<coh1mods but thats personnal preference i guess.
This is still a great game and I prefer the campaigns especially with the dlc. Some superb historical British campaigns too.
when , did i ask and for that matter when did anyone ask
