Nope it didn't work. I installed CoH and for some reason when I enter in CoH, It says that I have 2.700 version... In CoH Tales of Valor it says I have 2.600 version.
What the heck is this? My tales of Valor is some ''New steam version''. What is the problem here?
Yes, that's the exact same problem that I have! I figured out that i need to run Original CoH as it has 2.700+ new patch while expansion runs on some old 2.600... Everything works but no Normandy campaign for me even tho It's a full game.
I can't even send a ticket to Steam as they don't have it lol.
I don't have legacy edition. I didn't buy it. So what did i do? I bought CoH Tales of Valor (new steam edition) and when I bought it, I got Company of Heroes (original game) automatically added in my game library as well. Here a picture showing you:

As you can see, it shows how I have got both games right? After I purchased Tales of Valor, I first installed ToV and then when I saw how I can't play multiplayer due to 2.600 patch, I immediatelly installed CoH (original game) and that one has 2.700 where i am able to play online. But still It doesn't have Normandy campaign nor anything happens when I click on that locked key. No response from the game. I simply can't even unlock it now unless I enter in ToV where it asks me to buy original game.

Why did it come to this? Was it my mistake to install ToV first??? It says ToV is a new steam edition but whenever i launch it, it has 2.600 patch lol. While when CoH original is launched, he has 2.700 where it supports Steam. I just don't get it.
I don't know if I should reinstall the game. I just don't know anymore.
Now since the change ot the Steam version Steam was only aware of me owning Tales of Valour. All I had to do was get my old CD keys for the Base game and Opposing Fronts and add them to steam then it worked as it should.
Simple I know but it had been so long since I fired up the game I didnt remember that I'd had boxed versions and stupidly assumed that the ownership data would have been ported over from Relic.
Thats because your game was actually registered with THQ. After THQ went bankrupt Sega bought Relic studios and re-released the game to use steamworks, Relic Online which used THQ servers no longer exist.
I know, but why I have access to normal Company of Heroes as well? I bought ToV and got both games, but for some reasons steam doesn't register that I have base game as well...
Because ToV has standalone campaigns as well as adding some content to the base game its installed as DLC under the base game in your library so buying ToV adds Company of heroes to your library but you don't own the base game therefore you can't play Normandy without buying the base game.
If you owned the base game that would be listed under DLC as Core Game.
Ah okay then. But Can I add CD key from CoH retail version? I forgot that I have it, will it work?
Heres a screenshot to help explain what you see in your game list. Also I selected the Steamworks version so you can see how the game lists under DLC
