Lagging
So, my game has been lagging a lot, after a few secs on the menu it starts lagging that it's almost impossible to do anything and when i'm in game it becomes really bad so it's impossible to even move the cursor.
Some help necessary.

This has happened to my game as well. I run the game on every setting maxed out. Tried to play last night and it's like a slide show. Even the moving graphics in the menus are laggy. Maybe stems from a windows update? I have tried uninstalling the game, reinstalling Windows and trying again but still the same. There is a bigger issue here somwhere??? Help!

I think it could've been the previous windows update, since after i updated it my game just went full ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Even with the graphics on low, the lag doesn't change.

Ultra settings run the game on DiretX 10; when this game came out, DX10 was the cutting edge of technology, and as such, the game underperforms using it because it is poorly optimized. Revert your graphic options to High settings, so it runs on DirectX 9. Almost no loss in quality (improvements in many areas, actually) and much better frame rates.
Nah, I build machines for fun and work tech support on TW.com, (and you have to know a TW game makes Coh look like a day in the park for any PC) I have been running this game on an i7 7700 and 1080 which is overjill no matter how hard I might try and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my system... Dx doesn't matter, the only thing the program has as a limitation for a machine like mine is 32 bit user side virtual memory addressl imits. Always ran like a top until out of the blue just started it up today and its absolutely unplayable like I had a giant standing on the frame rate. I have ALSO recently updated finally to the stupid windows update... Its not the system, which I built, and I understand hardware and software. its not the game, since nothing there has changed since 2006. If its not Valve, then its Windows. Can SOMEONE get this figured out?

Edit: from two threads down, get this: "FIX for problems after new windows update
For those of you experiencing problems in CoH after this latest windows update go into the game directory and find RelicCOH.exe. Create a shortcut to that file. In properties of the shortcut go under compatibility. Check "Disable fullscreen optimizations." Hit "Apply" then "Ok". Run the shortcut."

I will give it a try shortly and report or remove the edit above. ~Dim

EDIT 2: Yep, worked on four machines which, all four gaming type stations in the upstairs had the same issue and the same fix. One you have run the game once from the shortcut , you should be able to run it nnormally from Steam shortcut as well. Good luck!

I just logged in into the game after a month of inactivity ,and I noticed a terrible stuttering ,both in game and lobby ,it seemed to be a 2,3 seconds delay . I tried any possible way to fix this by untistalling the drivers ,I even reinstalled the windows! But I'm so glad that I eventually found this thread and I can confirm that the shortcut thing works perfectly! No lag ,no stuttering . Thank you very much for your help!:steamhappy:

It is working. But you can´t play multiplayer if you start the game like this :(
