How to make a mini map for your maps
This is how to make a mini map for your maps

Mini Map

You have to edit the map , use the minimap picture created by the editor "mapname_mm.tga",

Note:

mapname_mm.tga is your map name for example RIVER_mm.tga

To show base location ie random base locations
---------------------------------------------------------------------

1. download GIMP ( from here https://www.gimp.org/ ) or ( software that can save tga files :)

2. load up the file "mapname_mm.tga ( the WB makes the file its the mini map of your map

3. Edit mapname_mm.tga to show start locations slots or something

4.( Export not save ) a new file called "mapname_map_base.tga

5. Then use save to keep your edit for GIMP




To show start location slots the fixed option with the numbers
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------


1. Load the file "mapname_mm.tga again to make white dots

2. Edit mapname_mm.tga and add numbers 1 to 8 on each dot you just made

3. ( export ) a new file called "mapname_map_slots.tga

4. Then use save to keep your edit for GIMP



To finish off so you have your mini map following files


"mapname_map_base.tga

"mapname_map_slots.tga


Now copy both files to C:\YOURNAME\Documents\my games\Company of Heroes\WW2\Data\Scenarios\MP


"mapname_map_base.tga

"mapname_map_slots.tga

Then use the World builder to export the file make sure the 2 files above are in the above folder




NOTE:
----------

To edit / save your map

The world builder is bugged with the Steam version of the game you can`t save your map

You need to install the old COH non Steam version and use that world builder ( don`t start that version of the game)

i removed the link to my guide how to do a load screen it seems it no longer works ... Wish they fix the issues

Thats the fault of the workshop lol it works in game there a uploading issue annoying it is

Hello. When i edit the minimap image with GIMP and add a word in a random minimap zone and then save this in the minimap folder of cs2 the word that i add doesn't appear ingame, only appear the minimap without it, in other words without changes. I edit it and save it as tga without change the size in tga extension!! Whats went wrong?

I add the "CT" word with blue color un the CT spawn.

You have most likely something wrong (resolution, compression, bit depth, file name...), Worldbuilder didn't accept new minimap and in map is saved old one.

Also don't forget that you have to export package and copy new version of map to Relic folder.

it can be. Now i generate a new one minimap file but when i try to open it with gimp cant read it. How can i export vtex_c file to a editable file like bmp o targa?

WTH is vtex_c :)) Go to MP folder, get mapname_mm.tga, open in Gimp, paint one with bases, then second one with bases and numbers, save as mapname_map_base.tga and second as mapname_map_slots.tga

Generally saved file should have all the parameters (resolution, compression, bit depth, file name...) the same as mapname_mm.tga

Yo dawg, I heard you like mini maps, so we put a mini map in your mini map so you can mini map while you mini map.

maybe you are talking of cs 1.6 or other.. in counter-strike 2 there are vtex_c files to the minimap image.

Bro you should stop sniff that synthetic paint thinner. This is Company of Heroes forum, not Counter Strike, lol. Thinner sniffing causes damage to the brain, kidney, liver, lung, and reproductive system.
