But in any case, you can have a look at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Ultimate Doom\base\MOUSE.CFG
Thanks for that heads up about changing the mouse controls. I always hated the sluggish movement in the default settings.
key_up 17
key_down 31
key_strafeleft 30
key_straferight 32
It gives a LOT more options for everything, and allow full mouse/WASD control. Might wanna look at some of the details first though, if you don't want the game to be changed in anyway. From what I can tell, Zandronum doesn't alter the game itself at all, so if you don't like it you can always go back. If you DO like it, consider getting the Brutal Doom mod aswell. It's... AWESOME.
Well, here's the mod page for it. It does have, I'd say, FULL customization of the controls, so you can use the mouse like any other FPS and change any other controls you want.
In terms of how it alters the game, that's on the mod page. Essentially it just makes it more brutal (for example, imps will now claw you), and it ramps up the gore and gibs. I think the biggest change is in the weapons - You get a rifle at the start instead of a pistol, and the weapons all have their own advantages and disadvantages, and can be reloaded etc.
As for installing it, first you need the Zandronum engine which I linked before. Just install that like any other program (probably in C:\Program Files.... something or other by default). In the start menu you'll see "Play Zandronum (Singleplayer)". Just run it and it should find your Steam version of Doom. For Video Settings I had Hardware (OpenGL) selected. Just run it once, maybe play a bit and check out the options menu (it's quite detailed) then exit.
For Brutal Doom, download it from this page, (it'll take you to gamefront). It will be called brutalv017.zip . Extract that and run the brutalv017 file and it should open in the Zandronum launcher. Theeeen that should be it. Any problems I'll try and help but I'm not the best at troubleshooting.
