How to run Doom 1/2 in gzdoom port via Steam?

copy the gzdoom files in the doom folder, rename dosbox.exe with something else...now rename gzdoom.exe in dosbox.exe...start the game from the library

it works! i can even run brutal mod for ultimate and final doom. also for master levels for doom 2. i couldn't run brutal mod for doom 2, but i found out how. for doom 2 you need to edit bat file and and add launch options there

could you please tell how you exactly manage to run doom 2 with brutal doom?

edit in doom2 + mouse.bat in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Doom 2. it should look like this:
.\base\dosbox -file brutalv017gzdoom.pk3 -fullscreen -exit
exit

of course, do everything as before for doom1 (rename dosbox, rename gzdoom to dosbox, and to be 100% sure put -file brutalv017gzdoom.pk3 in launch options)

btw, also put gzdoom files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Doom 2\base (as before!), NOT in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Doom 2 where is doom2 + mouse.bat located!

btw 2, i still don't know hot to run master levels for doom 2 (steam consider master levels as separate game) in brutal mod, if somebody knows, let me know. but as fas as i know master levels are not so good as original doom 2

tnx man, much apprenciate...also if after playing all the doom 1 iterations you're a little tired of the same arsenal, check the moddb page of brutal doom, there there's the "Brutal Doom's Ultimate Brutal Arsenal" (works with doom 2 too)...it's still alpha (and the vanilla mod arsena it's still better) but in this way you can vary your playing...

i can't get tired of shotgun and supershotgun never! :D thx, i'll check it. you can enter cheats in doom 1 ot have supershotgun for doom 2 while playing brutal mod. IDFA (it doesn't add keys like IDKFA, only weapons and ammo)

i always have to drag mods over to gz doom how can i launch gz doom and select my mod :/
