Why is Brutal Doom not included?
Let's face it no one cared about Doom before SGtMarkIV made it complete, vanilla feels archaic, looks ugly, has horrible sounds etc.

I do think there's weird divide between classic doom and new doom fans, New doom fans always seem to got this idea Doom is this hyper ultra fast paced game with ton of gore, When in reality classic doom while sure, Can be fast, Can be played fairly slowly too, I would call it medium when it comes to speed, New dooms just glitters the screen to overwhelm your brain.

I don't even like the doomslayer lore either, It feels so self referential "OMG ISN'T DOOMGUY SO BADASS LETS HAVE EVERY OTHER CHARACTER COMMENT ON HIS BADASSNESS" and the entire "he's actually a god" thing just takes away from the fact he was just angry guy in classic Doom, That's why it was relatable.

To be serious:

1. the remaster does not support nor have the modding features that make brutal doom in its completeness possible for that you will still have to use Zandronum or GZDoom

2. SGTMkIV is a complicated man and I have loads of respect for what Brutal Doom brought to the table after all it did inspire the glory kill system in 2016.

3. I like Brutal Doom but it is not the only mod for Doom and nor does it replace classic game play but I have multiple installs of Classic Doom to enjoy whatever flavor of doom I want to enjoy at that moment from gameplay mods to wads to TC's like REKKR.

My 2 cents have been delivered you may argue among yourselves and question the validity or integrity of my statements. Happy Debating or Flaming

Good day to all and may you all continue to doom on.
Rip and Tear.

Brutal Doom is boring. It doesn’t hold my interest at all.

I wanna say I have seen a couple Brutal Doom fans who really didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about anything DOOM but BD, for whatever that tells you.

But you're probably just trying to start ♥♥♥♥, aren't you?
Because what you personally feel should be in it is not what id Software, Bethesda, OR Nightdive felt should be in it.

If you want to change that, go apply for a job at id Software or Nightdive. The only person who truly cares about your individual trivial opinion is probably you... just saying. Instead of talking about it, maybe try doing something like that instead, that way you might actually get something done and the rest of us don't have to listen to you. Everyone wins.

That'd only be if you even possess the skill to get hired by any one of them though, which if you're suggesting Brutal Doom is the best, then you probably do not.

Seems like you're wrong since I have like 1,958 hours in Eternal, have never played Brutal Doom and probably never will. In fact I can count the amount of community WADs/Mods that I actually enjoyed and found thoroughly difficult on one hand lol. Brutal Doom didn't even make it on the list to get played because my first thought when I watched a video was "What the f*** is this garbage?"

Plus I'm one year older than DOOM and grew up with it. Nothing truly beats Vanilla DOOM in my eyes so I guess that makes me a purist and nothing like what you described.

this is kinda sad, its bait that puts a sh** stain on a part of this passion-filled game, really shows how heartless people can be to get a quick buck (awards) on steam.

Do hashtags work on steam?

It seems people hate Brutal Doom because they don't have the skills to play it properly, which they try to hide by pretending it's a balancing issue.

Just my factual opinion.

Nobody here has even made any criticism of Brutal Doom's design and balance. The closest is a couple people saying it was overrated or boring, which is their valid opinion but is also really just an expression that they don't vibe with the mod. It's also true that BD is overrated, but that's besides my point.
It's not a skill issue if you just find something dull or uninteresting. Do you think anyone who, I don't know, doesn't like Dark Souls only dislikes it because they suck at it?

You’re trying to have a reasonable discussion with someone who brings up such "arguments" because they literally can’t think of anything with more substance than resort to Souls-like level of discourse? C'mon.

Yeah yeah, it's just a bit galling considering nobody here even said BD was badly designed or anything. It's like walking into a thread discussing Harry Potter where most people there are concerned about JK Rowling, then going "heh heh, I guess nobody here possesses the literacy or IQ to enjoy Harry Potter".

Bait used to be more subtle.
Brutal Doom was fun. For a couple of weeks.
