Yeah, that totally forgotten, obscure, unknown little shooter game that hardly anyone even noticed existed back in '94.
Wouldn't be against making bd a dedicated expansion like rust. Add some achs and I guarantee doom would hike in sells
And yes doom guns sound awful, but shotgun was pretty good for its time. Dooms all about the shotgun (which is also awesome in bd).
Also mod maker needs some official acknowledgement dudes a pixel genius.
Fixed.
OG DooM is a certified classic for gamers not in there daipers who discovered it with Brutal DooM.
It does a metric ton of outcomes with very little mechanics to get there.
Which is marvelous.
Brutal doom on the other hand...
Whats the gimmick? Just generally curious what the gimmick is, because the only gimmick I see is a mod someone worked very hard on, that paints grotesque pixels like a masterpiece. When its blood fresh supply doing the crazy splatter people say its classic, but when dooms modded to do so... Its a gimmick?
They should acknowledge this guys skill and give him a seat at the ID/Doom table, the mod is incredibly popular and comes up all the time, while doom purists struggle to promote vanilla dullsville mods. People keep coming back to brutal doom, project brutality, and other cod like dooms.
Why?
Because cod revolutionized shooters way beyond doom, cod2, for example, was what made 360s launch popular. Aiming down the sites makes sense on a target field, instant grenade tossing makes sense opposed to cycling, I mean think about it, if grenades are right there on a hook, why wouldn't you just grab that thing and toss it? While firing?
Rolling around even makes sense in a firefight, duck and cover makes sense, honest guts and gore make sense. Explosions and body parts going everywhere makes total sense to everything a shooter is...
And if dooms engine can do it spectacularly I don't see whats to hate. Big brutal doom fan, as I'am a fan of all art, fan made or licensed. Because if a fan makes something awesome as a nod to the lore and license, why shouldn't they be acknowledged?
As for all the sgt marks a bad guy man. WHO CARES!?! I don't give a damn who an artist is personally, all I care about is how good the art is.
Brutal doom and all incarnations of it, are absolutely frickin amazing mods idc I'll defend that mod all that long.
Art seperated from the artist, ok I think that's a decent experiment.
Nope, I still don't care for Brutal Doom. It's just...meh.
You felt compelled to bring up that defence though so....I dunno man feels like a losing argument.
Sure he put in a lot of work and all, and the idea sounds great on paper.
But that's all it is. It's what every kid who played Doom in 90's fantasised about.
And guess what, some of that stuff isn't in the actual game ....because they are horrible ideas.
And you are saying
however there are numerous other creators, authors and collectives, there are literally hundreds of pages in category "Cacoward winners" in Doomwiki, what about all of those then
