Is there a way to play co-op mod levels with a friend?

I found a workaround to play online with Mods through this Doom 1 + 2 KEX Nightdive version, thanks to suggestions from the Doom community forums:

Manual simple (inefficient) method:

Keep in mind, this workaround takes you out of Crossplay... so yeah, unfortunately atm, this is the best (PC only) method we got until we get some official update where the Multiplayer UI in-game makes Mods selectable... if it ever happens. Crossing fingers that it happens at some point, especially to be able to play with Crossplay friends or friends that want as plug-n-play experience without 3rd party software or methods outside of the game.
