Maybe it's trying to use speakers over HDMI. Check that, if there's an option for that in sound control panel, disable it, and choose your preferred device.
For the DOS executable:
Your sound settings in the setup exe DO NOT MATCH the sound settings in DosBox.
You'll need to choose the right ones for Sound Blaster, the right address/IRQ/DMA settings etc. It should work then. Look for the dosbox.conf file to see what those settings are. Get the right IRQ is a start.
If you can't get that to work, use Chocolate Doom for a close-to-vanilla experience, and you can also use GZDoom for a modern-but-still-classic Doom experience with all the fun features of modernized Doom engines.
