No sound

can someone help me? I had doom (1993) and there used to be sound but ever since it got this upgrade i cant hear a thing. YES i have checked my windows audio, i have deleted and re-downloaded the game, and yes i have connected and reconnected my speaker

It's a problem with the Steam version apparently, i have the same game on GOG too and in that version, all the sounds work fine, but when i try to play it on Steam is all silent.

Bluetooth? It's a problem with the windows bluetooth stack. Gimme a sec to find a link to the fix.

i've tried the "disabling hands free" part and it still doesnt work, for some reason i can only hear the audio through anything that isnt bluetooth like my laptop speakers or my wired heapdhones

+1 for this bluetooth audio issue. Same thing is happening to me as well. I have tried to disable my bluetooth microphone in the device manager but it still doesn't stop the game from attempting to use that microphone and disables my sound. Which is ironic since I have a different microphone plugged into my system and set to the default input device. Very frustrating.

I have this problem also with doom eternal. But my solution is as follow:
Go to device manager (just type device manager in the search bar in windows) and go to sound video and game controller, disable your headphone hands-free. Now the sound should work, but your microphone probably wont. Restart pc.

You can try to remove your device from Bluetooth settings and add device again, and then disable hands-free in device manager.
Also, messing with sound in windows settings can make it bad.

Some BL headphones works and some dont. Due to if the device can use 2 channels or 1 when the mic and stereo is used at the same time.
If the device only can support 1 channel when mic and stereo is used at the same time, the audio will be mono, not stereo.

I use an external wired mic.
Unfortunately I dont have a better solution.

I haven’t had any issues with the sound. My only issue is that they put the music volume way too low.

yea changing it to default doesnt work either

Had same problem. Just upgrade proton version to newest and it should be fine.

Thanks, but I already found the solution to my problem. I lowered the other sound volumes so that the music would seem louder. I'm then having to increase the volume to my PC. I'm always using headphones with an attenuator.
