Should they remaster wolfenstein?

I'm kinda on the fence on this, on one hand it's a classic and revolutionary shooter. On the other hand it's an incredibly dull and boring game I wouldn't purchase.

Not trying to bash wolf either. But doom is a fun game that I can gladly sink hours in cause of the enemies, music, level design, weapons etc. Wolf aged worse than doom.

See I first played wolf even before doom, on Xbox when I unlocked it on rtcw. Loved rtcw so wanted to give wolf a chance. But the more I played it the more bored I got. Limited weapons, limited enemies, dull backdrops.. It's just not a shooter that aged that well imo. But heretic is absolutely amazing to me. It's why even for a buck and change I'm just not compelled to buy wolf on steam.

So be honest one way or the other, if you like wolf that's cool and admirable I tried.. It's just one of those games that gets more and more tedius the more I tried. I'd rather see them focus on other games like quake4, heretic, hexen2, and rtcw. And it's not like remastering wolf3d would be that much of a challenge anyway what is there like 4 guns?

Even if Wolf was remastered, no one would really want to play it outside of nostalgia.

Maybe not Wolfenstein 3D. RTCW and Wolfenstein ( technically a RTCW sequel ) might be worth it though.

Oh yea rtcw all the way first awesome ww2 game I ever played. But they got a really good mod remaster with real rtcw.

Pixels are not the problem the game was just kinda dull to me, heretic I would pay 10$ for a remaster. Well I already own heretic so hopefully not. But still, doom and doom 64 are also worth it. Its not really about the pixels but the game that is being sold.

Wolf3d already has ECWolf and multiple gzdoom remakes.

I'm also wondering what they will do next quake con. I believe they might go quake 3 or 4 maybe. Doom 3 has had a couple of remasters already. They could go with heretic or Hexen but that is a long shot in my opinion, like something like quake wars or something they probably won't do. They could do Return to castle wolfenstein.

Yeah, of course. Wolf3D may not be as good as DOOM, but it's still a historically significant game that deserves to have a good modern version across major platforms.

Doom 3 had one remaster and it wasn't good. A good remaster with a Quake 2-style rebalance would finally make Doom 3 shine.

I think Quake 4 deserves a complete remake. No more call of Quake segments and it should be longer, because I liked the second half of Quake 4 and the MP was actually prettu good with the crouch slide

Quake 4 was good, great campaign don't know why people wanna bash it so much.

Heretic is more of a personal fav, its about as tiny as wolf, but it does more artistically and musically and has a hell of a lot of levels. I don't care if heretic or hexen are obscure they are good enough games on their own to deserve a resurgence.

I love Heretic, even the much different Heretic 2. Much more than Hexen, I still have trouble finding my way around Hexen easily.

Hexen had an impressive first area, love the bell, hexen 2 looks promising from what I played. Just still going through heretic, heretic was an amazing starter and imo is comparable to doom. Heretic deserve a lot more attention.

Q4?
I played that twice and I really regret of wasted time. Once maybe 15 years ago, not bad graphic for that times, but much worse gameplay than in Q2, everyone was slomoved, meh enemies, slow shooting, meh sounds, boring level design. It was so much mediocre shooter that I completely forgot i played this. thanks to that I replayed whole game on hard in 2022. That was, even worse than fist play. Meh open ending also very disappointing, in the end I remembered I really played this piece of "Daikatana" before.

Quake is dead for a reason, let corpses lay in the ground, man.

Thats why I said it needed a complete remake, because it could have been good.
I played it more with a mod that made it better but there was no fixing the game itself
