Remix: Andrew Hulshult's remix soundtrack. Good stuff.
Original: The midi soundtrack recorded off of a real SC-55 so no emulation or sound font is required
General Midi: Windows soundfont. Always kinda crap as usual.
And finally FM Synth with some patch options, though for some reason, pc has fewer options for it than ps5 does. Probably a bug with the version control.
Haven't bothered with the new port much, but I'm curious - how does it handle user-made wads if it doesn't have a proper soundfront?
Wait, how many options does it have? (The FM Synth)
I have it on PS4 and Switch and I only see FM Synth (Original and DMX), in addition to MIDI Synth, the original and Remix (with the fallbacks being the aformentioned 2 FM Synth options and Midi Synth option).
Yeah, it’s the specific sound hardware used for those options, which I actually never knew about, so the more I learn.
What I do not like is the improper looping. The tracks were written to loop without a pause. I wish they'd change that behavior back.
Speaking of the PS5 version real quick, am I missing something? Since I seemingly cannot activate Sound related mods for the PS4 versions of Doom + Doom 2 (at least).
