Do you just let them do this?
Am I the only one who doesn't feel right about having a game stolen out of my library? I know I can use beta feature to play it, but in order to download it, I need to agree to the new EULA, which I absolutely do not agree to as it was forced on me.

I don't want to live in a world where where you need to sign in to some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ service like Bethesda net just to play a game from 1993. There is absolutely no reason you should be online to play Doom.

When Sony tried to push for mandatory PSN sign in, everybody revolted. But now with Bethesda, it's okay? I don't understand why I see only positive feedback here in discussion and nothing negative about stealing your game away from you.

The only thing you need an account for is online play and Mods, that’s it. This is basically Unity 2019 after they fixed the forced login

Another person who doesn't know license agreements have been a thing in doom since dos.

Did you actually not use a source port and play via Steam? Weird.

stop embareasing yourself. The EULA thats forced on us is different from the one I agreed to when I purchased "Ultimate DOOM"
Seamus Aug 15, 2024 @ 8:30pm
And yet, you still had to agree to a eula.

I don't know about the unity port, I bought "Ultimate DOOM" a long long time ago and I'm pretty sure that was no Unity. It's not in my library anymore

Yes, but this one is different from the one I payed for and if you read it, it's actually worse for you as a customer. You are being fed ♥♥♥♥ and you try to make me look foolish for not liking being fed ♥♥♥♥.

Its under the Beta Participation Branch as “Previous Re-release” (or something similar).

Yes, it is. By right clicking on the game, going to properties, then betas and picking the 2019 build.

Or, you could just play the dos version with uncensored wads that is included with this version.

Or take those wads to play in a source port.

Or quit whining about getting free content.

Y'know. Whichever.

The time to get mad about what you bought changing was in 2019 when unity doom was added replacing the original dos build.

You're five years late.

Never had Doom (1993) In my library :) If you had owned the old version, called "Ultimate DOOM" like me, you would know that Doom (1993) is something else
Seamus Aug 15, 2024 @ 8:38pm
No, it isn't. Doom 1 has only ever had one ID on steam. Appid 2280. Same as this one.

It's all the same library entry.
