in my personal opinion, it's not worth it. Why you ask? Because the BFG Edition doesn't include "Final Doom", only "Ultimate Doom" and "Doom 2". and even "Doom 2" on the BFG Edition removed the Nazis from those 2 super secret levels ("Wolfenstein"/"Grosse")
so you're actually better off getting the original games from here on Steam, and downloading the latest version of the ZDoom source port
And with the existance of brutal doom, that is quite the price.
All 3 multiplayer ports even allow the exception of the BFG versions of Doom and Doom 2 to join servers that use the DOS iwad.
I use both BFG wads with brutal doom, they work fine. In fact i've not found a mod that they won't work with yet.
The nazis are still censored out, but you can copy both wads from the steam folder and paste into z/gz/whatever your source port of choice. As an added bonus the BFG D2 wad comes with an additional campaign that was some console exclusive that is actually pretty damn fun, especially when using Brutal Doom with it!
It's just those hidden levels, I hardly noticed. The extra No rest for the Living content is very well done and you also get the extra D3 Lost mission which was pretty good as well.
