You can use the copy from this version in gzdoom. It's the one called nerve.wad in the rerelease folder..
Those are indeed some of the more elegant Doom maps. Hell Mountain in particular is a blast to play with ProjectBrutality.
1. The KEX Engine remaster as Silverhawk90 pointed out, the WAD is in the "rerelease" folder.
2. Through getting the 2012 Doom 3: BFG Edition (NOT the 2019 standalone version or the original 2004 version). If you previously had the original Doom 3 prior to the BFG Edition merger from 2022, you get the BFG Edition for free (and vice-versa). Once you have purchased and installed it, the WAD is found under the folder "base\wads".
3. The Unity Port, but requires downloading it from their curated add-ons menu which itself needs a Bethesda account to access. Once it's installed, the WAD is found in your Saved Games folder in "<username>\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM Classic (or DOOM 2)\WADs\3". The file you're looking for is the file named "3" without a extension; rename this file to "nerve.wad" and it can be used with a source port.
