They are a little different in the re-release folder as you can tell the size is a little different. Though probably indistinguishable most of the time.
I copied out the Nerve and ID1 WADs from the re-release folder and with a source port the medkit has a red cross. So does that only apply to the five original games from the 1990s?
Those require IWADs to run, right? If you're using the original IWADs, then the medikits should be like those.
Had to use a "special" method to obtain Ultimate Doom's wad. But, since I do have Doom II and Final Doom (Delisted), it's the only one I had to do that for.
That's a good question. I'll have to see what they require to run or not run. Though I think Nerve was made to connect to Doom 2. I can confirm that the Doom WAD that is 12,962 KB is censored. The Doom WAD that is 12,196 KB is uncensored.
Luckily I had copies of most of the stuff but I am not sure if I have all of it.
And the point of all of this is what now? Did anyone complain about the way it was?
I tried the beta participation setting in the options. You can access the Unity engine version but I'm not seeing a Dos version.
Can anyone explain to me why you would want to play that version anyway? Unless you're a hardcore 100% purist, it really seems like the only reason people care about it is to be one of the "cool kids". If you're not playing it on a 1993 potato computer with a VGA monitor, a barely function mouse with Cheetos dust in the wheel, on a floppy, you just seem like you're half-assing it.
Again, not defending this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ practice of removing something you paid for, Devs need their asses blasted for that crap. I just don't get why anyone would want to regularly play a heavily out-dated and obsolete build of a 30 year old game.
