DOOM + DOOM II

Is doomguy a proper name for the protagonist?
Like doom was suppose to be the situation, like everyone was doomed. But doomguy seems like an odd choice for his name, considering. Does he even have a real name?

Benakenobi, perfectly 200% correct, i don't believe you knew that fact, Doomguy is not what you call the player marine at all, the marine is called the Space Marine or the UAC Marine as a nickname. Doomguy is only artificially made up nonsense by the online internet Doom community. The Space Marines real name in the PC canon Doom series was mentioned and released only once in the first ever Doom development interview on television in 1992 by Tom Hall as he went over his bit about the Doom Bible while playtesting Doom Knee Deep In The Dead right before its official release would come in 1993, which the space marines name is Dylan Flinders Petersen(Even despite using Dwayne Hicks or Michael Biehn regarding the space marines inspirations from Aliens). I do have a facebook page with lots of neat Doom stuff and information if you need anything further on any of it, https://www.facebook.com/jonathan.j.shearman

Doom 64 was inspirational to the Neo Doom reboot(Dark ages, 2016, Eternal, Ancient Gods) along with its inspiration from quake, the powerup impression in the Neo Doom is inspired from Quakes same impressions.

Doom 3 is not a remake of Doom I at all, though most its elements are inspired and compared with the PSX Final Doom(Doom 3 has lots of inspiration from its stimulating enviroment, its thoughtful mood chemics, and sense of progressive thrill throughout the game).

The employees at the time of Doom 3's development literally threatened ID to either let them Remake Doom (hence Doom 3) or fire them. John Carmack ultimately agreed on the remake (but not without firing someone in retaliation). Saying it isn't a remake, is just incorrect thinking

Cool, it's also canon to Doom 1 and 2.

Doom 3 is not a remake of Doom I
That's just wildly incorrect and shows you know nothing about the production of that game.
Well yeah, he agreed it to be a remake of all of its qualities and elements so it could be Doom and not some stupid different game, if he didn't agree to it, Doom 3 would have been about some lost astronaut on an Asteroid with a ring laser blaster with an antennae on it, or a racing game about sending your opponents to their ultimate doom. You know John Carmack anyways right, the more the merrier, thats what it got at, and that was official. Doom 3 John Carmack officially called a reboot of the series in a Doom 3 interview back in 2003.
Okay, a remake is not a reboot, here,

A remake is like when you take the same exact game, and slightly change its qualities or edit compromiseable things in it, but its still the same game, for example, the Doom Remake in the Doom community or Knee deep in Zdoom is a remake.

A reboot, is when you take it and twist it into a spinoff that is a totally new game, but has the same features, patents, and impressions as the original patent, as it has nothing connected to do with its correlation to each other in storyline, existance, or even the creators for that matter. Another idea of this for Doom would be like Doom The Roguelike or the 2D Doom fangame.

Cool rant, doom 3 still has nothing to do with matters as it's not the same marine.

Doom 1, Doom 2, Doom 64, Doom 2016, Doom Eternal and Doom Dark Ages are, however, all the same marine.

"In June 2000, id Software's game engine designer John Carmack, posted an internal company plan announcing a remake of Doom using next generation technology.[32] This plan revealed controversy had been growing within id Software over remaking Doom. Kevin Cloud and Adrian Carmack, two of id Software's owners, were always strongly opposed to remaking Doom, believing that id was going back to the same formulas and properties too often. However, after the positive reception to Return to Castle Wolfenstein and the latest improvements in rendering technology, most of the employees agreed that a remake was the right idea and presented the two owners with an ultimatum: allow them to remake Doom or fire them". It's right there on Wikipedia for Doom 3. As for Remakes, those are usually not done by fans but either the same company as the original project (Capcom with Resi Evil) or a different company trying to revamp it's flaws (InIn Games with Rainbow Cotton), Reboots meanwhile come in 2 flavors, Soft Reboots (Think something like Tomb Raider Legend of Dad of War/GoW 2018) where prior events still happened, but basically slightly restarts things again, while the Hard Reboot (ala Tomb Raider 2013, Rise and Shadow) just kinda reset everything and makes a restart at square one.
Right, RIGHT, EUREKA RIGHT, you have gotten their, the 3 player stars, Doom 3 Hell On Mars/PFC Elianore Quasar, Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil/Specialist Barney Pooey(Barney is based on elemental validity), Doom 3 The Lost Mission/Lieutenant John Kane...they are not Lance Corporal Dylan Flinders Petersen from the original Classic PC Doom.

No, Ulimate Doom is Dylan Flinders Petersen, Doom 64 is Sgt Dwayne Hicks from Aliens, Doom 2016 is the spaniard soldier(As for now), Doom Eternal is a look alike of Neal Armstrong, and the Dark Ages might be a character connected with the night sentinels.
At this point, now you are 100% trolling since you are refusing to listen and keep insisting all the Doomguy's are different even though they are the same person for all intents and purposes, by the end of TAG 2, Doomguy's face is basically a recreation of his classic face from Doom and Doom 2, basically cementing he's been the same guy the entire time, even carrying most of his weapon roster from game to game. (And again, he has a Daisy Rabbit Cage and also a painting as well, the Kahn Maykr even references Daisy before Doomguy fights his 2nd major boss).

I must say your headcannon is really interesting, that doesn't make it official. Go troll somewhere else :steambored:

Once again: Hicks never fought demons. Your theory is garbage.
In fact, here's a little article for you to read[doomwiki.org], with actual sources, give us your thoughts on it.
Seamus Apr 2 @ 7:24pm
I already asked for an actual source.

He ignored it.
That Daisy thing is all easter egg just for the enthusiasm and fad of the Neo Doom franchises elements and entertainment qualities. The picture of the classic Doom Marine with his son Hunter and the mother Chloe, is merely only an easter egg for honors of the legacy of Doom, OMG, you can see he has no resemblance to the spaniard Doomslayer or the Neal Armstrong Doomslayer. I may be trolling but thats only because i can't get pragmatic message and truth across. Daisy has nothing to do with the new Doom, its all an Easter egg, its like the Doom Collection on Xbox, if youve played it i have it, theirs mass loads of easter eggs of dev artwork, unused sprite collections, and additional unreleased bonus information on the Classic Doom series, its the same idea as that.

It'd help if you actually posted truth. You've yet to do that.

And what does this have to do with anything? :tank:
