Cheat codes on GZDoom?

I am currently playing Brutal DooM with the Maps of Chaos addon. Great fun, but... I am having a hard time figuring out the new secrets. I thought using the idbeholda cheat code to give me a computer map in levels that do not have one, but GZDoom's console rejects them as "Unknown Command".

What am I doing wrong?

You do not type it in the console you just type it while playing the game

Use IDDT twice instead.

Where/When are you typing the cheat codes?

In game. I actually got commands like "noclip" to work after enabling sv_cheats and starting a new game, but classic cheats do not seem to be recognized.

Try using the Quake cheat codes... GZDoom uses a hybrid engine.

Pity that the map cheat codes don't work as I don't recall Quake having a map (due to having complex 3D levels and floors over floors, etc.).

To anybody ending up here through google like I did, Hekksy had it correct in saying that you have to type it in while still in control of your character.

to reveal the automap you have to open the map and then type in iddt
