I am looking for some folks to play Doom multiplayer with.
Does someone even play it?

Theres always people online. I wont pretend there is a ton of people but certaintly enough for deathmatch. I usually use Doom Explorer as launcher / server browser. Even thought, to find player at all times, you might have to download multiple source as not everyone plays online using the same port but that aint a big deal imo... sourceports aint a big download.

Yeah, right now it's rather empty but at this time, and we are friday, thats kinda normal. But, during the evening and weekend there is usually always some deathmatch going on.

Yeah, dont worry it ain't super complicated. Doom Explorer will download any wad the server might be using on its own and can even download the ports if you ask it to.

Not the most user friendly thing and looks rather complex but they did a lot to make it easier for people to use it. Plus it doubles up as a mod manager and launcher. So, its kind of a do-it-all Doom app.

I use the Bethesda remake. Not DOS version if it is what are you asking.

The Bethesda port does not have online multiplayer. Only local splitscreen. For multiplayer over the internet, you need to use one of the sourceports that were developped with that in mind.

Bethesda's port isn't even capable of LAN multiplayer. What server browser you speak about?...
