Official Sunlust release

I have formatted my PC recently, and lost my GZDoom files. I wanted to play Sunlust through the in-game browser, but there doesn't seem to be an official release.

Most of the Unofficial releases are broken. The one that does seem to work "Sunlust: Summer bundle", Has some strange bugs, such as 117 monsters instantly dying in "God Machine", which is probably not intended.

Is there an official release of Sunlust that I'm not aware of, or will I have to bite the bullet and go through the long process of reinstalling GZDoom?

Grab sunlust off idgames.

Put the wad in the Ultimate Doom\rerelease folder.

Load the game, select Doom 2
In the console, type:

d_pwads sunlust.wad

refreshgame

You might get a kex error when it tries to load a demo, but if you click ignore it plays fine.

It is a pretty recent release as well, I mostly was peeking at stuff that was old school unofficial releases as well as TeamTNT’s makegood effort and with the update fixing mod saves, I could use Elf-Alchemist and PixelScuba’s versions to play them with proper credits and all. Shame Icarus Alien Vanguard breaks on Map 7 in this release

I'm just waiting for an updated version of Pirate Doom 2 to get posted that fixes the dehacked issues that are crashing kex doom.

PixelScuba is working currently on fixing it up for Kex Doom, so it is just a matter of when it seems.

It is intended. Play the level and you'll probably figure out what they are used for. Or get spoiled below:
There are several sections where machines in the level resurrect dead enemies touching them. The monsters killed at the start of the map are teleported there to be resurrected later.

Summer Bundle is the only version adjusted specifically for DOOM + DOOM II. All other uploads are exact copies of the idgames version and eventually softlock at a certain level when played in DOOM + DOOM II.

What other ""strange bugs"" in Summer Bundle are you referring to? If they are legit they will be fixed.

Regarding the spoiler it seems that I have thoroughly underestimated the ingenuity of the Sunlust level designers. The only other potentially major thing that may have been a bug is the lack of hurt floors on map 27 and 28, though this may have simply been a visual design choice, I have never gotten far enough into Sunlust to be familiar with them.

I'll consider this topic as answered, as I do have confidence in the quality of the Summer Bundle, and I'm very grateful for the editor's work.
