Very interesting doom mod

For anyone interested in this rabbit hole be warned its a very long video. But I found it interesting and was one of those videos that sucked me in for the over hour long duration it had. Still its impressive work but the mod wasn't good for what you might think. Was good cause it was cryptic as hell and unraveled like an onion.

Not to demean you OP, but I think this is a bit akin to telling niche RPG fans that EarthBound exists, lol.
Like, MyHouse.WAD as far as I've seen is not obscure at all within this little corner of the internet, it's very much a big name DOOM mod.

Anyway I ain't a doom fan like that, I find some stuff interesting but I ain't scouring the internet for every single thing doom. I just found this one interesting.

Personally like quake, goldeneye and turok more, but dooms cool.

Its a video I'd strongly suggest someone only watch if they are interested but it held my attention to the end.

But as far as playing the mod, nah doing all those tricks and activations is to much for me so glad the video exists.

Not really fan of it, sure it has nice tricks but when you see that it's a .pk3 that only works on GZDoom the illusion is easily shattered as stuff like room over room and non euclidian geometry is not possible in vanilla.


It's just that it has that "creepypasta with a backstory about a haunted game file" that made it appreciated.


I think I prefer Lilith.pk3 since it uses the flaws of ZDoom itself.

Its really just a collection of extremely cryptic activations that hide a bigger story, and it gets a bit more depressing than creepy imo.

MyHouse is awesome, though you should definitely try it for yourself before watching the video. It doesn't take a lot of thought to get the bad ending, and even then it's worth the experience. I'm really curious who actually made it and if we can find elements of it in their other projects.

While looking for more maps like it I also ran across Ismo's Quest. It's a recreation of a guys house with a nonsensical story written by his young children and a dark spooky atmosphere. Obviously it's not quite as serious but it uses photographic textures and takes full advantage of GZDoom features to make it one of the most modern looking Doom maps I've seen. Highly recommend it if you want something equally impressive but a little less serious.

My house wad is one of the most iconic doom mods, I remember playing it because a friend invited me in his home and let me experience it, very good game and mod, I think it's a little masterpiece
