How do I get this to work on GZDoom?

I want to be able to free aim in this version that has better text and remastered music, but GZDoom only loads the old separate wads of Doom 1 and 2. And if I try to run the re-release executable through GZDoom, it just opens through Steam alone.

You... can't run an executable through gzdoom. That's not how ports work.

If you want achievements, you have to play this version. If you want to use gzdoom, you have to load the wads via gzdoom. Most recent version has fixes for legacy of rust from what people have been saying.

I don't want achievements. I said I just want to be able to play with free aim with the enhanced text and music.

Check the gzdoom forums. Seem to recall someone has made a way to load the content of extras.wad (where the new music is) via gzdoom.

Open it in slade and rename all the audio files that start with H_ to D_ then load it in gzdoom

To play Doom with GZDoom, double click on the GZDoom executable, it should automatically pick up on your Doom installation and use that. If not, copy the .wad files into the same directory as the GZDoom executable and then run it.

Grab your .WAD files from the installation, and drop them into the same folder as the GZDoom .exe file.
