Chaingun is extremely useful in so many situations that the only thing that limits its greatness is the ammo limit.

It's a sniper rifle! (if you shoot with single clicks spread is exactly zero)
It stunlocks revenants and pain elementals!!
In a room with a lot of zombie soldiers you can go bananas!!!

Doom 1 the plasma rifle despite the scarcity of ammo.

Doom is well made so you get situational weapons all the time.

Yeah, everybody with a Doomguy face says the SSG. Definately a pattern here.

I agree with most posters, SSG and plasma rifle are the best hands down, the BFG is also really good but its a bit situational, much prefer the BFG10K from Quake 2.

Also the way it works is cryptic at best.

The Unmaker with all 3 keys is so OP on the other hand.
