Doomguy rules and Doom Slayer droolz. Doom Slayer looks like Master Chief and has way too much going on, since he relies more on tools instead of himself.

He looks different, he plays different, he acts different, he was made by entirely different people. Literally the only similarity he has is that he kills demons (which look and behave completely differently) while wearing something that's green.

Well like or not, Doom still have a story and a lore. The same marine you play as in Doom 1 from 1993, is the protagonist of Doom Eternal. Sorry, I don't know what tell you. Go search some of Doom lore that explains at what point he went from being Doom Guy and became the Doom Slayer. He evolved, but it still the same protagonist. They are not two different characters that could be standing in the same room.

I was actually very impressed they made so much lore for the games. The ending of Doom 64 included when that was just a random spinoff.
