Here is a small list of mods that absolutely need to be checked out. I am excluding Brutal Doom because everyone knows about it.
Note that every mod on this list requires ZDoom or GZDoom.

Smooth Doom enhances almost every animation in Doom, from weapons to monsters to torches. It also adds fancy stuff like bullet cases, alternative monster skins, and a lot more.

A mod that includes Doom PSX levels, music, sounds, etc. If you like darkness and ambience with Doom, give this a whirl.
