I am glad to replay vanilla, with a controller for the first time.
Exactly what i said in my thread:

With different words, but the idea is the same...
Putting rain and gloss with that helmet UI does not represents Doom.
It's fine to like it. But you're not doing anyone any favors by proclaiming that Brutal Doom is a superior or definitive experience, especially since a lot of people who had no intention of playing Doom otherwise tend ask for support and compatibility with every port or mod under the sun.
This was really my pet's peeve regarding BD/PB and Doom mods in general (especially for maps made with the original game or Boom in mind, not Decorate and the "balance" of brutal doom).
Bolognese/Nash' Gore Mode with Smooth/Beautiful Doom are closer to the essence of the original game while making it fancier.
That's what Doom Metal is for. The helmet is a toggle.
ez fix.
Or play Brutal Doom v.21 if you want, instead. Both are great. And they're better than vanilla.
They are what we wanted Doom to be when we were kids, but could not have in 1993.
besides i got tired of doom mods (except for custom maps) so uhmmm yeah.... remastered all the way
if you like modded then i won't judge
but don't claim that it is "better". Everyone has different opinions (ESPECIALLY about brutal doom)
