i mean you are not wrong, but this re-release update is more for console owners really.

You appreciate brutal Doom more if you played vanilla before.
I am glad to replay vanilla, with a controller for the first time.

With different words, but the idea is the same...

While this looks neat I'd argue this is the furthest from Vanilla Doom we gett to see.

Putting rain and gloss with that helmet UI does not represents Doom.

Brutal Doom is really its own thing at this point, as well as all of the GZDoom mods that extensively mod the game to the point it is something other than Doom.

It's fine to like it. But you're not doing anyone any favors by proclaiming that Brutal Doom is a superior or definitive experience, especially since a lot of people who had no intention of playing Doom otherwise tend ask for support and compatibility with every port or mod under the sun.

Brutal Doom sure blows, alright.

And think that vanilla Doom is "boring" or that any sourceports that aren't Zdoom based are not good...

This was really my pet's peeve regarding BD/PB and Doom mods in general (especially for maps made with the original game or Boom in mind, not Decorate and the "balance" of brutal doom).

Bolognese/Nash' Gore Mode with Smooth/Beautiful Doom are closer to the essence of the original game while making it fancier.

Has anyone gotten Brutal doom working inside this package?

Doom is like burger king, have it your way brother

No. And it's impossible to get it to work. And it's impossible to make a Brutal Doom version that would work in any recognizable form on this engine.

Check out Complex Clusterf**k. It lives up to the name. Honestly, though, I always end up coming back to play "vanilla" Doom. I will never tire of it.

Just remove that helmet HUD, the rain, the floor gloss, the cinematic music, the Doom 3 imp sounds, the reloading and the flashlight and I'd agree.

That's what Doom Metal is for. The helmet is a toggle.

ez fix.

Or play Brutal Doom v.21 if you want, instead. Both are great. And they're better than vanilla.

They are what we wanted Doom to be when we were kids, but could not have in 1993.

i don't like "brewtal dewm" or any of its forks so i will pass
besides i got tired of doom mods (except for custom maps) so uhmmm yeah.... remastered all the way

if you like modded then i won't judge
but don't claim that it is "better". Everyone has different opinions (ESPECIALLY about brutal doom)

I don't think this is how Doom should've been since the balance of the mod is different.
