How to activate mouselook?
Do we even have mouselook with this new DOOM+DOOM II port? Is there a way to activate it?

No way to enable it that I could find (looking at console commands). Though curiously there is a cl_msensitivityy variable.

Mouse look was on by default for me... there's just no up and down movement, left and right only.

Yeah, "free look" it's what we meant.
Since they didn't include it, they shouldn't have bothered with the rest either!

lulwut??? The original Doom had horizontal mouselook at launch, as did Wolfenstein 3D.

Since it's not in there by default, is there a mod that can add it in?

You don't need up/down to play the game. The game with auto-aim at everything on the vertical axis for you. That's how it's designed to be played. Once you get used to it, aiming becomes pretty easy. You don't even need the aim cursor.

Next you'll be asking for a "jump" button to just completely break the game.

If you want mouselook, you have to install a source port. I recommend GZDoom. It's not the most vanilla option (in fact, I think it's the furthest from vanilla that exists) but it has mouselook support and a very popular modding scene.

Download it at http://zdoom.org/downloads and it should automatically detect your installation of Doom.
