now comes 2024 and somebody sees said map from 2004 and not from 2014, now would the author have the right to be upset?
But if it's a fairly recent wad and authors are still active in modding scene then that's a no no in my book
And if they where annoyed of some people maybe buying these to play their mod, then what would they prefer ? To play mods with pirate versions perhaps ?
Then someone should upload the newer version ? With the modders permission though.
This has nothing to do with what is currently going on and is completely different.
I agree that people should ask the authors first though, even if it shouldn't matter.
We all love modders, we just don't respect them I guess? At least ask them before you upload it, it's the bare minimum.
Which is still an option I think we all need to be reminded of.
Of course there's still the console players, but considering they're new to the whole modded scene, there's tons for them to get to before being concerned with what is and isn't available.
