Movement Feels Weird
Movement is delayed and feels like I'm walking on ice. Slipping and sliding all over the place. I checked the keypress to movement and it definitely has a slight delay. Very slight but it's enough to make everything feel off. I usually play DSDA Doom and it plays extremely tight and responsive. Playing this port feels really weird. Anyone having this problem or has a fix for it?

I don't have this problem but it does feel like when I shoot there is a half-second delay, even worse online. Maybe this was in the original and I just don't remember, been a while.

Ah maybe that's it. I'll try it out.

Nah, same deal. Actually seemed like the delay was a little worse with D3D11. Compared this port to DSDA, etc and there's def something off with the movement. At least on my end. Hope I figure it out soon because I'm pumped to mess around with this new port. Been dreaming of a centralized Doom port for a while.

there is mouse smoothing active by default. guess that might fix it. always check the settings first.

Theres an option on Input Options - Advanced Controller - Smoothing and Accel
Turning that off made it feel better also tune up the mouse sensitivity to your liking.

Also turn down Max turn acceleration to 0% or a lower number

Tried that as well. It's not just the mouse but the actual WASD controls.

Mouse feels off. Like input lag or smt

Go to your Doom launch options and put in: +r_rhirenderfamily "d3d11"
Doing so will remove the weird mouse smoothing effect. Which will make it feel more responsive.

then just switch to d3d11 in the options... :conwayshrug: should do the same or not?

that was the first thing i did, then deactivated mouse smoothing (why the F is that even on in an ID game?). feels normal to me. well, super fast obviously, but that's fine.
Movement is off for me - I can't get used to it.
