Can't Load Saves In Skillsaw's Official Mod Uploads in DOOM + DOOM II
When I make a save, either a regular or a quicksave, when I attempt to load them I get thrown to the title screen, even though based on the menu buttons, I'm technically still in-game, and then when I press the Use key, I get the message:

"You do not have the correct mods installed to load this save." - even though I do.

Has anyone else experienced this?

His work is among my most beloved, Lunatic and Valiant are easily my favorite WADs of all time and it would be great to play them in the new port as well.

Just noticed the same problem. Tested with Ancient Aliens, 5 Minutes to Kill, and Vanguard, none will let me load saves in them. Tried it with save files I had from earlier and some made just now. This happens both with saves and quicksaves.

But it doesn't seem to be every mod. I had a save from 180 Minutes Pour Vivre from a couple days ago that loads fine and made a new one in DBP09 Legend of the Hidden Tech and that works as well.

Verified integrity of game files, nothing missing there. Even if I try to load a save while in a different wad or even a different game it loads the wad in question, just not the save, then I get the error "You do not have the correct mods installed to load this save." I wonder if this happens because there are pending updates for a mod or if it's something else.

Ancient Aliens has a separate texture wad to come with it, I wonder if that might be the reason? I suspect the engine may only be able to load one wad file at a time.

There is also the fact that almost every skillsaw wad has things like Palette changes, which may not be supported fully by this port.

BTSX works fine, so I don't think it's a palette issue.

To be fair to BTSX, it is also a Featured mod, so they got that to generally work

I'm aware. But it also uses a heavily modified palette.

I may swap the downloaded version out for the original Back to Saturn X versions with all the original level names intact, though.

From what I remember in the interview with BTSX there were some huge under the hood changes in order to get it to work. I don't know if they went into specifics, but maybe those changes could assist here.

You sure? Other than requiring a dehacked for level names/par times, iirc BTSX is vanilla compatible. Shouldn't need any changes.

It’s kinda funny actually, both BTSX addons, actually predate the DeHackEd support being added by 1 or 3 months (depending on which BTSX addon you refer to), since the first addon to fully use DeHackEd was REKKR.

You sure? I'm not familiar with Rekkr offhand, but a quick search says it came out in 2018 with the announcement in 2016. BTSX E1 came out in 2012.

I’m sure since 1.07 of Unity Doom (the one that added DeHacked Support) was September 2020, BTSX 1 was June 2020 and BTSX 2 was August 2020 (when they were added as official addons to the Unity port).

Ah, you mean to the unity port. I didn't mess with that version much. I mostly use eternity engine at this point.

Ah, well that explains it. Yeah, I meant the Unity port, I never knew there was differences with other versions

There's two distinct versions of BTSX. The original releases use entirely different level names and the full name of the wads is Back to Saturn X.

They had to change the names for the official mod version because they were all references to a band called Guided by Voices.

I remember that much at least and they also shortened the name to BTSX with funny subtitle replacements (oddly, Episode 2 still references the original in its little titlebox). Another couple changes to addons I can recall is chaning the intermission guy from Double Impact (to avoid copyright concerns), as well as Deathless the addon being a bit different than its official release version (namely with some new secrets and some minor-ish layout changes)

Has anyone figured out what do to? I also only have this problem with skillsaws wads, but I played Vanguard a few days ago no problem. But after having this problem with lunatic, Vanguard ended up getting the same problem of not being able to load a save.
