To use LofR weapons in this game i selected doom2, i entered command d_pwads id1-weap.wad and went to map08, and sure enough, i picked up incinerator in caco hall.
it fully works from player view, but there's no world sprites for weapon and fuel.
it shows up on weapon selector, it shows message "you got incinerator" on top of screen, but is not visible which is a problem if you don't know where to find plasma gun normally
i also see both "fuel" and "cell" on the hud, there are now 5 types of ammo.
if i also try to load id1-res.wad i get error message:
anybody had more success?

for some reason, the aforementioned command in console doesn't work for me when i try it next day, i could swear it worked in-game the first time, then i launch kex Doom with parameters -iwad doom2.wad -file id1-weap.wad
and get the same result - working weapon in hands except invisible in world
spits out error message (see quote above) and closes
starting with parameters -iwad doom2.wad -file id1-weap.wad gets new weapons except fuel and weapon are invisible
same with final doom iwads - plutonia or tnt - and same with doom.wad
Codes in Dehack. So far i got things backwards. I messed up somewhere. But im getting it working though.

i was able to get working weapon graphics loading id1-res and id1-weap only when i deleted the COMPLVL from id1-res.
it results in replacement of BFG and PG in weapon slots 6 and 7 and cells with fuel, but at the same time it shows extra weapons 8 and 9 on status bar and still shows cells there
plus the backpack still adds cells not fuel (i guess it was the reason that the backpack was not found in entirety of LOR)
so i have to borrow statusbar from LOR and at the same time find out how to get backpack to give fuel.
what i didn't understand is when using just a single id1-weap.wad, it shows the held fire guns okay even though the wad doesn't contain guns sprites. and their sounds also not in wad - so i shouldn't be able to hear them yet i hear them firing.
moreso, i copy-paste graphics of fire guns and their ammo into a copy of id1-weap.wad, load that one and s t i l l don't see guns and ammo in world.
this is what surprises me the most. the doom engine is supposed to always use what is loaded by using -file parameter and never use what isn't loaded. but here it does just the opposite
it's been a while since i finished LOR and the interest to use fire guns in "normal" games has diminished.
